MICRONICS ANNOUNCES HIGH PERFORMANCE PENTIUM PRO SYSTEM BOARD
Fremont, Calif. -- Micronics Computers, Inc. announced its second
generation Pentium Pro product, the M6Mi, a high-performance system board.
Based on Intel's 440FX PCIset, it targets compute intensive workstation
applications. Evaluation units are available immediately with volume
shipments in May. Designed to fit into the ATX form factor, the M6Mi features
support for both the Enhanced Data Out (EDO) and Fast Page Mode (FPM) memory
technologies. In addition, the architecture supports Error Checking and
Correction (ECC). Pentium Pro processor support ranges from 150 to 200 MHz
with a voltage regulator module supplying CPU-specific voltages. For more
information, see the Micronics Web site http://www.micronics.com.

INTEL ROLLS OUT 440FX CHIP SET
Santa Clara, Calif. -- Intel Corp. announced the availability of the 440FX
chip set, new desktop management software, and a new series of motherboards
that round out the Pentium Pro processor platform building blocks. Through
new chip set integration, the Intel 440FX PCIset delivers high performance
while using half the number of components than the previous Intel PCIset. It
offers additional features such as scalability through Concurrent PCI, ease
of use through Universal Serial Bus (USB) support and reliability through
Error Checking and Correction (ECC).
"The combination of 32-bit performance, manageability and affordable system
price points make the Pentium Pro processor platform the highest performance
and the best value choice for business applications using Windows NT today,"
said Carl Everett, Intel senior vice president, Desktop Products Group.
In addition, Intel will make available this quarter a new product, LANDesk
Client Manager, a DMI-compliant application (including a software agent and
user interface) for local and network management of desktop client systems.
More information about the 440FX PCIset, the Pentium Pro processor and Intel
motherboards is also available at the Intel Web site http://www.intel.com/.

TITANPRO PROVIDES WORKSTATION AND SERVER SOLUTIONS FOR AT OR ATX FORM FACTORS
Milpitas, Calif. -- Tyan Computer, a provider of high performance system
boards, introduced two new dual Pentium-Pro system boards targeted at
workstations and servers supporting advanced operating environments. The
TitanPro AT and TitanPro ATX, which utilize Intel's new 440FX chipset, are
designed to offer performance, scalability and reliability that system
engineers can easily design into AT or ATX form factor chassis giving them a
greater degree of flexibility and cost effective options. The dual
Pentium-Pro system boards have clock speeds of 150 and 200 megahertz and have
five, full length PCI and three ISA expansion slots including one shared.
The PCI is revision 2.1 compliant and supports concurrent P6 and PCI
transactions to the main memory. The TitanPro's main memory consists of
1024 megabytes DRAM (maximum) with eight 72-pin SIMMs. The system board is
available in June 1996 to system integrators and OEMs. For more information,
