Newsticker plugin for GKrellM 2.x, version 0.3.5
--------------------------------------------------

This plugin scrolls headlines of internet news sites.
Which news services are used is defined by the user:
Use the config dialog to add labels and urls you want.
The newsticker can read *.RDF files only at the moment!

To install the plugin, you need libcurl and pthreads. While pthreads should
be already installed on your system, maybe you have to install libcurl yet.
You also need the development files/archives of libcurl!

Important: libcurl version 7.8+ and GKrellM 2.x is needed!
So, you got those?
Then simply "make install". This will copy the plugin to ~/.gkrellm/plugins/
and GKrellM will load it automatically on startup.

Left-click a panel to start up your browser:
it will show the site belonging to the headlines shown in the panel you
clicked.
Use the configuration dialog to set which browser is used.
You have to use %s once in the browser command, which will be replaced with the URL belonging to the panel.

Middle-click a panel to make the plugin update the headlines. Anyway,
every 10 minutes (default value, one can change it of course) the headlines
are updated.

Right-click a panel to call the configure dialog for the plugin.

When there's a new news item, the second LED in the panel will blink. While
downloading, the first led blinks :D. These two LED are displayed in the
"Status Panel", which you have to activate in the configuration dialog.
Yes, the LED's are the only feature of the Status Panel, but I really
like them :) If you got a cool idea what else could be displayed over there,
don't hesitate to mail me =)

If you need/want to connect through a proxy, you can set the relevant
options in the config dialog, too.

The speed the headlines are scrolled with can also be adjusted, as well as
you can control how many headlines should be scrolled.

You can also export your current list of RDF sources. Click the button in the
config dialog in the "Sources" tab. Such a list can be imported, too,
of course. The sources in the imported list will be appended to the existing
sources.

If you'd like to theme this plugin, have a look at THEMES =)
